Fragrance Free Skincare – Simple, Safe, Effective

It is a wise choice if you opt for fragrance-free skincare for long-term skin health. If we add scents, then it may cause irritation to the sensitive skin, can spark allergies or may lead to breakouts without even noticing.

Hey Clean Beauty Crew…!!!

It is a smart step to choose fragrance-free skincare for healthier skin. Fragrances sometimes may cause irritation to the sensitive skin type, can cause breakouts or trigger allergies, whether we realize it or not.

You allow your skin to breathe and focus on absorbing only those ingredients you need,if you use fragrance free skincare routine.

Fragrance free skincare keeps your skin healthy and glowy for a long term and makes your routine safer ,gentler and more effective for your coming years.

Fragrance Free Skincare Ranges – For Sensitive And Allergy Prone Skin

No doubt , fragrance is addictive and I can say that without  any joke.

Fragrance really can trigger  your emotions. It can make you feel more vigilant and more relaxed.

“Fragrance therapy” isn’t for every person. Any hayfever sufferer will nod to this point.

Ever had a surprised collection of beautiful lily’s only to start sneezing like you were entering the Olympics???

Ever had someone walk past you in the hall, or a confined  territory like a helicopter  only to unwillingly begin practising for Olympic gold???

Fragrance is known to contain some allergens and irritants that may cause allergy or irritation to your skin. Those sneezes you get after smelling something delicious or touchy – this is the way of your nose to  discharge those bits that your nose doesn’t like. It blows them away… or tries its darn hardest to.

If you have a type of skin that is dry or sensitive, or you face skin problems like acne, eczema, rosacea or psoriasis, it is extremely advantageous to eliminate allergens, pollens and irritants from your skin’s diet.

These skin types and skin conditions are prone to ‘acting out’, prone to inflammatory causes and very  sensitive to ingredients that aren’t skin identical.

What Fragrance Free Skincare Really Means?

Ever watched a movie where something a little underhanded happened but by the letter of the law it was still an A-OK scene? Those movies  love to get us all undignified..  ‘eh.

Maybe a murderer confesses his crimes to a friend who is wearing a wire only for the recording to be inadmissible in the court because of the reason that no consent was given.

Maybe a female employee was told she couldn’t come to work unless she wore a dress of someone’s choice….only to realise she’d signed a contract agreeing to it.

Sometimes skincare claims can be a little like this. Sometimes the things that you assume the words mean, isn’t actually the thing it means.

Confusing right?

Example Time….!!!!!

Imagine your skin is having a toddler-like tantrum and you are after some skincare that looks  like a clean eating for your skin. You are being present at the drugstore, scouting for something mild, kind and fragrance free.

You then see exactly what you’re looking for  mentioned on the label. “Fragrance free”. You pick up this all natural product thinking heck yes  sorted!!!!!

You run to the counter. Buy  your new fragrance free moisturiser. You don’t even wait to get home, you’re so keen to lather your face up in something which is actually going to help that you find the nearest toilet.

Got you. You enter, catch your new product , open the lid and ‘POW’… whoa that smells strong!  But it was mentioned that it is fragrance free, how does it even still smell like there is fragrance in the bottle? Strange….

This is actually the  legal catch, essential oils aren’t technically perfumed because… they aren’t called ‘fragrance’ they’re being called as ‘essential oils’.

Ridiculous right?

Because essential oils still fragrance an item. You’ll also still find essential oils (synthetic fragrance) are mostly listed as  the word ‘fragrance’ or ‘perfume’ on an ingredient list (that’s when the company doesn’t want you to know their super secret essential oil formulation ). This is a treat for glow lovers!!!

These facts leave us in a grey space. A space in which, if something is added to a product to give it a fragrance ,can  be sold in a bottle which calls itself fragrance free. Weird, huh?

What Is The Difference Between Fragrance Free And Unscented Skincare Products?

Have you ever felt like your skincare products are speaking a different language that may be a sort of an alien language?

Well, you are not only the one who thinks like that . Terms like fragrance-free and unscented might seem similar, but they can be as confusing as a puzzle.

To add to the mystery, some fragrances hide under tricky names on the list of the ingredients. But….., clean skin lovers!!!!

you need not burden your mind anymore. Let us decode this skincare mystery here.

What Does Fragrance-Free Mean In Skincare?

Skincare products labelled as “fragrance-free” don’t contain any synthetic or natural fragrances. They are made for people having sensitive skin who might get redness, rashes or irritation from scents.

It’s worth mentioning that not all skincare scents are harmful for skin. Some natural scents can be proven better  for the skin. But for those having sensitive skin, even natural scents can lead to irritation. That’s why fragrance-free products are a safer bet for these kinds of people.

When a skincare product is described as fragrance-free, it’s made without any fragrance ingredients.

What Does Unscented Skincare Mean?

Unscented skin care products, as their name shows, lack  fragrance. Nonetheless, they might have some ingredients that contain a natural scent. These products are suitable for individuals who aren’t particularly sensitive to fragrances but prefer products without added scents.

Which One Should You Choose?

Are you interested to know the best fragrance free skin care products????

Here,I’m with the solution,

You should invest in fragrance-free skincare products for the following reasons

No Use Of Harmful Chemicals

Fragrance-free products do not have  any synthetic or natural fragrances.

Safe For Daily Skincare Routine

Fragrance free skincare is the better option which is safe too. There are no negative effects of fragrance chemicals.

Less Risk Of Skin Irritation

If you select fragrance-free skincare,it  means you won’t have to deal with any kind of  skin problem that may be irritation, redness,or rashes. The formula is basically  designed to ensure the overall health and well-being of your skin.

Unique Formulation

They are designed for individuals having sensitive skin. Fragrance-free skincare products are gentle and mild and suitable for all types of skin.

How Skin Reacts To Fragrance?

The most fragrance ingredients impart scent through a volatile reaction. Unluckily, this natural reaction almost always results in a sensitized response on the skin.

In fact, research has shown that scented skin care products are among the most common causes of sensitizing, that are negative skin reactions. No doubt, this is true for all skin colors and types, not just only to people who have sensitive or redness-prone skin.

Is Fragrance Bad For Acne Prone Skin?

Yes,Absolutely!!!

Acne is thought of as an inflammatory skin condition, which means that irritation is one of its hallmarks. Any irritation that skin experiences has the potential to initiate the conditions that make acne flare up, that’s  why the best anti-acne skin care routines are always fragrance free.

Why Do Skin Care Products Contain Fragrance?

That’s a great question, and the answer is very simple .

It’s because most people like it when their skin care and hair care products smell good. Cosmetic companies understand the demand of a fragranced product. They realized that fragrance impacts a consumer’s purchase decisions and their experience of using the product at home.

What to look for on a label?

What to look for a label if you want to buy a fragrance free skincare product:

(There are many more, but this is a helpful starting point to familiarize yourself with.)

  • Linalool
  • Citronellol
  • Limonene
  • Geraniol
  • Eugenol
  • Lavender oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
  • Rose flower extract (Rosa damascena)
  • Bergamot oil (Citrus bergamia)
  • Ylang-ylang oil (Canaga odorata)
  • Lemon (Citrus limon)
  • Lime (Citrus aurantifolia or Citrus medica)
  • Orange (Citrus sinensis)
  • Tangerine (Citrus tangerine)
  • Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
  • Spearmint (Mentha spicata)

Conclusion

I would like to say that fragrance free skincare is the best option for the people having sensitive skin, skin issues and for the people who don’t want any addictiveness to their products. It is a mindful step towards better skincare,if you prioritize fragrance free skincare products.
